Originally from Somalia, Fartun was both a national basketball player and a runner. After moving to the United States in the ‘90s, Osman volunteered with multiple organizations: the Minnesota Thunder, Somali youth development, recreation centers. Fartun Osman is the Founder of Girls Rocks; through the years she has made it her mission to help develop young girls through sports and mentoring. She has dedicated a lot of her time to the work she does and believes in the mission of this program.
